Aging and Health Research Center (AHRC) is an interdisciplinary research center, which is mainly composed of aging and biology research (ABR), aging and health research (AHR), and aging and technology research (ATR). AHRC aims to collaborate researchers in biogerontology, clinical gerontology and social gerontology to promote high quality researches in Gerontology and Geriatrics to meet the challenges of population aging. AHRC is also an integrated research platform between National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei Veterans General Hospital and the National Health Research Institute. In Feb, 2015, the three institutes have launched a new platform for aging research by establishing the Integrated Center for Aging and Health (ICAH).

In the past few years, AHRC kept publishing a great number of scientific publications with high quality (Figure shown below). Aside from the research achievement of individual PIs, AHRC actively worked with our research partners together on national funding research projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Health Promotion Administration. AHRC also worked closely with pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry to apply the research achievement to real-word practice.

AHRC has strong connections with international scientific communities. In 2014, the AHRC advisory board has been established and several outstanding international scientists have participated in the advisory board, including Prof Karen Bandeen-Roche (Core Faculty, Center on Aging and Health, Johns Hopkins University), Prof Jean-Pierre Michel (Past President of European Union Geriatric Medicine Societies and the Full Board member of French National Academy of Medicine), and Prof Kenji Toba (President, National Center on Geriatrics and Gerontology, Japan).

AHRC aims to become the main research institute for aging in Asia, it will be multidisciplinary to raise the efficiency of research, and it will also combine its resource with school courses, to cultivate more talents/experts by extending research to education.
